Shrinkfit principle
The Shrinkfit holder s inside diameter is designed to be slightly smaller than the shank diameter of the cutting tool.
When placed into the inductor and the cycle is started, the inside bore is heated due to the localized high magnetic field generate.
The inside Ø will expands. The cutting tool shank can then be slipped easily into the holder.
As the holder cools down, the resulting thermal contraction exerts a tremendous, uniform pressure around the entire surface of the tool shank.
