Workpiece clamping technology

Self centering vises

Clamping force up to 25.1 Kn 4-jaw screw fastening: The 4-jaw screw fastening increases the clamping force and rigidity by 30% compared to the original 2-screw version. Higher accuracy: The redesigned carriage features a spanner and dowel pin for better accuracy and repeatability. Same compact footprint: The overall height + width + length is the same as the original vice. The vice mounting is also the same as the original design.

Double station vises

Independent jaw movement. The clamping jaws on the vice carriers allow independent movement of the lead screw and still provide maximum clamping force. Mount more vises on your machine table and watch your parts skyrocket per cycle. Increase throughput, reduce tool change time and machine downtime between operations.

Dovetail clamping device

Fixing/stop pin for accuracy

A precision locating pin ensures that the material is centred in the fixture and cannot be pushed out of the fixture during processing. The locating pin also provides high repeatability for inspection during the process and movement from machine to machine.

Mechanical locking

All 5th Axis products utilise a dovetail angle of 45 degrees. Dovetails provide a consistent pull-in and pull-out force, which means your parts are held more stable than with any other clamping method. If you need compact clamping with high repeatability and maximum precision, then you should use dovetail clamping.

Quick and easy preparation process

Gear cutting a part is a quick, simple machining operation that prepares your material for our dovetail fixtures / vises. A small time investment on the front end means unrivalled holding power - and unrivalled precision - for the rest of your manufacturing process.

Efficient use of materials

Dovetail technology reduces the amount of material you need to purchase for conventional clamping methods.
Not only is less material wasted, but dovetail technology also reduces part deformation due to excessive torque; dovetails distribute the clamping force more evenly across the part and utilise pressure from the bottom up rather than from the side.

Our dovetail fixtures can hold any material.
5th Axis dovetail fixtures can clamp most materials on the market today, from fragile graphite to ultra-hard, high-temperature alloys.

Grip jaws + dovetail profile

The serrated surface of the jaws ensures maximum grip on workpieces with a hardness of less than HRC 35. For harder materials, the built-in dovetail profile in the clamping jaw ensures exceptional clamping force without the need for a coining machine. The clamping jaws are hardened throughout to 55 to 58 HRC.
