High-performance milling chuck system HKS

Kemmler milling chucks are suitable for almost all applications.

We guarantee unrivalled clamping forces and high process reliability, especially in heavy-duty machining.

HKS power chucks deliver excellent surface finishes and favourable tool life thanks to the chuck's rigidity, concentricity and clamping starting at 3 mm from the chuck nose. All HKS power chucks guarantee a maximum concentricity deviation of 3 μm at 3 x D.

Application:
- Heavy-duty machining
- Finishing milling
- Hard milling
- Drilling, reaming
- Thread milling

All standard tool shanks with or without Weldon shanks can be clamped directly or with a clamping sleeve.

Reduction sleeves for Milling chucks

Reduction sleeves for KEMMLER high-performance power chucks (HKS) are available in three diameters (20, 25 and 32 mm), but can be used with different tool shank diameters and tool shank types with the aid of reduction sleeves.

HKS reduction sleeves may only be used in conjunction with high-performance power chucks, as the dimensions and tolerances of hydro expansion chuck reduction sleeves differ.
Reduction sleeves for high-performance power chucks are available in various designs.

- DCONMS (machine side / outer diameter): diameters 20, 25 and 32 mm
- DCONWS (workpiece side / inner diameter): diameters 3 to 25 mm
- Type (machine side to workpiece side): metric to metric
 - Coolant-tight and non-coolant-tight

Concentricity deviation
With direct clamping, the concentricity deviation is max. 5 µm. For high-performance power chucks with reduction sleeves, the maximum concentricity deviation with 3x DCONWS (tool shank diameter) to the machine-side taper is max. 10 µm.

Transmissible torque
For the same tool shank diameter, the transmissible torque with a reduction sleeve is at least as high or higher compared to direct clamping in the chuck due to the larger chuck used. The larger the high-performance power chuck (HKS), the greater the transmissible torque.
